July
4th may belong to the Yankees, but July 5th belongs to Trevor Loveys.
This seasoned vet of UK house has been bringing us new sounds for years
now, cloaked in the successes of countless remixes, EPs, and stunning
live sets. His newest project, Machines Don't Care, is about to drop in
the next month or so. The album is a compilation of the "who's who" of
the Fidget House scene - Herve, Sinden, Detboi, Drop the Lime Fake
Blood, Toddla T, Affie Yusuf - all bringing glitched-out beats, wobbly
baselines, and stabs of synth to our side of the pond. Loveys has
amassed quite a following amongst the English-set, and now it is our
turn to go berserk for a night as he puts the heat back in House music.
In other words, we can dump tea in Boston harbor all we want, but we're still going to be ruled by the Brits.
