Sub Swara ::26:: in our ongoing commitment to bring you the best of new and emerging sounds we are proud to welcome two of our esteemed comrades in the global war on wackness: Beat scholar, party scientist, ragga maniac, and remixer of singers from M.I.A. to Gregory Isaacs, DJ C continues to spread his fiercely eclectic gospel of crunkment, mashstep, ragga-bounce, and grime-hall across the land. He's been pumping out a series of records on U.S., U.K., and Japanese labels including a remix of M.I.A.'s U.R.A.Q.T. for her Galang 05 single on XL Recordings, as well as singles and remixes for Ninja Tune, Man Recordings, Shockout, and his own Mashit imprint. Meanwhile his tunes continue to devastate dance-floors worldwide. Then move over boys, as Mob Bosstress Anasia drops in from the west coast, leading us into a late night session with her particular take on low frequency global crunk. Defying genre, Anasia's live set is consistently deep and sexy, hitting just right in all the necessary places with a slew of original mash-ups and on-the-spot remixes. Having shared a bill with Sub Swara last summer at the spectacular Shambhala Music Festival in Nelson, B.C., and regularly appearing beside her boys The Glitch Mob, it's time for the east coast to learn proper what the west coast has known for a minute: Anasia's sound is pure low-end Love. The Sub Swara live set returns with a krush of new product and a bad bwai stance to face the new year. Dhruva, Sunder and Haj come correct every time. Juakali, back from his world tour resumes his rightful place 'pon the microphone stand, and new swaran resident Sharma-ji brings serious heat to bear with a DJ set of original material and floor crushing bangers.
